Product Description

    Radial shaft seals are used for sealing between rotating and fixed parts (FIG. 1) or between two relative moving parts and consist of two main parts:


   Metal or rubber outer diameter, and necessary interference fit between the seat hole to ensure a static seal.
   The seal lip is made of rubber or thermoplastic material and can be used dynamically and statically. The seal lip has a sealed edge formed by molding, turning, or grinding. Generally speaking, a certain radial load is applied by the tight spring to press it on the shaft mating surface. Sealing lip and shaft mating surface constitute the most important functional area of radial shaft seals. The sealing effect of sealing lip can be improved by designing oil return line in the lip contact area.

    Some radial shaft seals are designed with an auxiliary seal lip that protects the primary seal lip from dust and other contaminants. Adding a suitable lubricant between the seal lip and the auxiliary seal lip can reduce wear and delay corrosion. Contaminants that have passed through the auxiliary seal lip will eventually cause the mating surface to be damaged. Heat build-up can occur between the two sealing lips, leading to premature wear.

HMS5 and HMSA10 seals
     The metric rubber outer diameter seals HMS5 and HMSA10,  are part of CR seals designed according to ISO 6194-1 and DIN 3760 for a wide range of industrial applications. The existing size range of HMS5 and HMSA10 seals includes the full size of ISO 6194-1 and DIN 3760, with axle diameters up to 250 mm (9.842 in.), and a wide range of sizes commonly used in the market.
